Also, Gregg gives an update of the Victorville Film Archive. ===== Synopsis ===== After welcoming the viewers and introducing special guest Gregg Turkington, Tim gives a sobering update on the delgadofund charity. As it turns out, despite Tim working closely with the Delgado family, they have started a civil suit with the other families of the electricsun20. They have begun to take over Tim's intellectual properties including decker and dekkar, and //On Cinema// is presumably in their crosshairs too. Tim says he suspects rosetti, the San Bernardino County District Attorney, put the families up to it. He says he is facing chapter 11 bankruptcy and accuses the Delgados of trying to "monetize" their son's death. Tim also excoriates Gregg for his movie-themed hats, saying he has gotten "a lot of negative feedback" about them, including from sponsor riojenesis over competing advertisements. Gregg says he has gotten positive feedback, and says the hats are a new collection he is starting. But Tim isn't buying it, and threatens Gregg with a "Deep Impact" (the movie advertised on Gregg's hat today) if the hats continue. With that bickering out of the way, it's time for the first movie of the day, //Ready Player One//, directed by the legendary Steven Spielberg. Tim calls it Spielberg's best movie since //E.T.// (1982, 114 mins). Gregg notes the title implies Spielberg knew the movie would be a hit and spawn numerous sequels, hence the //One//. He predicts that Guinness Movie Records will recognize this as the first film in a series to preemptively put //One// in the title "from the get-go." For Tyler Perry's //Acrimony//, Gregg opines that Perry is "becoming the Woody Allen of our generation." He says that this is his best film, and that Perry will likely be nominated for a directorial Oscar. Tim also loved the film, and predicts it will win an Oscar. He also remarks on the length, saying it "flew by." Gregg's expert opinion is that the perceived duration of a movie does not factor into its official running time. Gregg reveals that he sent a letter to Tim Burton, asking why he did not direct //Sherlock Gnomes//, as reviewed last week. He says he got a response from Burton the next day, along with an autographed picture of Burton. Burton's response is that he never saw //Sherlock Gnomes//, but is sure that John Stevenson did a fine job directing it. Gregg is dissatisfied with Burton's response, claiming he did not directly answer the question. Next, Gregg airs an update segment on the current state of the vfa. He appears in front of several bins of VHS tapes, and announces that the archive's facility will be taking up a walk-closet that is "quite big." He also encourages tape donations, revealing that donors can check out tapes from the VFA for a week at a time. A weird whistling sound can be heard in the background. After the segment, Tim thanks the sponsors before signing off, nixing another popcornclassics segment. ===== Ratings ===== **//Ready Player One// (2018, 140 mins.)**\\ **Tim**: 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿 + πŸ₯€πŸ₯€\\ **Gregg**: 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿 + 1 E.T. keychain **//Tyler Perry's Acrimony// (2018, 120 mins.)**\\ **Tim**: 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿, OSCAR PICK \\ **Gregg**: 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿 + πŸͺ΅
