The buffs check out new animated fare and a wartime drama. Plus, Tim faces a daunting choice.

Synopsis

Tim channels Darth Vader as he moves his recliner forward, bringing his gnarly, burnt face into view. He announces that on today's episode, the finalists for his skin transplant will be revealed, while Gregg complains about the ergonomics of the theater seats. Gregg is happy to announce that, thanks to a tip from Mark Proksch, he has acquired over 1,000 tapes from an estate sale for the bargain price of $100, allowing him to start rebuilding the Victorville Film Archives. Tim also reveals that he has fired Chef John Lenard, due to “cleanliness issues” and disagreements over the food items, particularly the “spice level.” For today, Tim orders the chicken skewers with red wine; Gregg asks Mark for another glass of white wine.

Today's first film, Boss Baby, has two directors, which rankles Tim a bit. Gregg says the film is “in the same vein as The Peanuts Movie, reviewed last year. Both award the film highest marks. Mark himself, however, continues to disappoint with his waitering skills, when the chicken skewers he served Tim turn out to still be frozen. For The Zookeeper's Wife, Gregg wishes the film was animated, since the animals would then be able to talk and give their perspective on the historical events portrayed in the movie. He loved it anyway, though, and awards it highest marks.

Tim announces the skin donor finalists: Axiom and Manuel. The pair enter the stage, and Tim congratulates them on making it to the final round. He thanks Axiom for his support, despite now being Tim's brother-in-law, and praises his musical talent. He tells Manuel that, despite being newer in his life, he finds him to be a good man. After taking a big bite of the chicken skewers, Tim chooses Manuel as the donor. The trio share hugs and back slaps; the episode ends with Tim and Manuel sitting down for a glass of wine.
