John Lenard

John Lenard is a professional chef who was hired by Tim Heidecker to oversee the menu at Six Bag Cinemas.

History

Lenard attended Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School.[1] He met Tim at the Four Points hotel in Oklahoma City, where Lenard was working in the hotel kitchen. Tim said he was served “best piece of fish I ever had” and asked to meet the chef.[1] Tim then hired Lenard to be the head chef and create the menu for Six Bag Cinemas, a proof-of-concept hybridization of cinema viewing and fine dining.[2]

Lenard's menu for Six Bag Cinemas consisted of upscale options, often containing garlic aioli, truffle oil, and kobe beef. He said his personal favorite menu item was the popcorn shrimp.[1] Gregg Turkington hated the truffle oil popcorn, and suspected Lenard microwaved most or all of his dishes.
