HEI Inc.

Owner Tim Heidecker

HEI Inc. is an American corporation, best known for owning and operating the HEI Network. It was founded by CEO Tim Heidecker after he acquired Delgado Media Holdings.

History

After the events of the Electric Sun Desert Music Festival, organized by Tim Heidecker, resulted in the death of Chris Delgado, the Delgado family sued Heidecker in civil court. As a result, Heidecker lost the rights to numerous intellectual properties, including Decker, On Cinema at the Cinema, and Dekkar. These properties were collected under a holding company, Delgado Media Holdings. Delgado Media Holdings was a subsidiary of the Delgado Fund, a charity owned by the Delgado family created in memory of Chris.

The company continued to air On Cinema, and continued the tradition of a yearly Oscar Special, The New On Cinema Oscar Special. Unfortunately, the host of the special, Rafael Torres, was pepper sprayed by Heidecker, who forced his way onto the set after having been barred from appearing. Following this, Torres sued Delgado Media Holdings.

Torres' lawsuit, combined with the low financial performance of their IPs, lead Delgado Media Holdings to begin looking to sell the company. Heidecker, using a loan from MoneyZap, purchased all of Delgado Media Holdings' assets, and formed HEI Inc. as a new holding company. Unfortunately, as part of the sale, HEI inherited all of Delgado Media Holdings' debts and lawsuits, as well as its own from MoneyZap.

Shortly after, HEI Inc. announced the formation of a new television network, the HEI Network. Initially, prices for a subscription to the network were comparatively high, ranging from $299.00 to $599.00 a month, presumably in an effort to pay off HEI Inc.'s debts. Before the launch of the network with the inaugural 8th Annual On Cinema Oscar Special, prices were discounted, and Toni Newman mentioned that she was currently funding the network through a beauty product business.

In recent years, HEI Inc. has not been mentioned by name by Heidecker, and he instead has managed his IPs solely through the HEI Network. It can be presumed that HEI Inc. as a company reorganized itself into the HEI Network, and HEI Inc. as a company ceased to exist at that point.
